On March 23, 2020 my father suddenly passed away at the age of 65. This event brought many changes to my life and views on what was important. As a little girl my lifelong dream was to own a hair salon. Up until now I was always too scared to take the leap of faith. However, I now feel it is important to live for the moment because we aren’t always guaranteed tomorrow.
“Bloom” was planted.

My name is Kara Peach. I was born and raised in Putnam, Connecticut, and lived in Putnam most of my life. I was blessed to have two wonderful parents and three siblings. I now live in Woodstock CT with my boyfriend of six years and my beautiful nine-year-old daughter, Madyson. Besides doing hair my passions are spending time with my family, working on my gardens, traveling, running and working out. I am a 2005 graduate of the Willimantic Institute of hairdressing and cosmetology. I have been working locally for 15 years. I offer men’s, woman’s and children’s haircuts. As well as perms, tape-in hair extensions,waxing, and all aspects of color. I am certified in Cezanne keratin treatments and eyelash lifts and tint. I love everything I do, but most importantly, I love to make people feel good about themselves and love their hair. I love the relationships I have made with my clients over the years who have become more like family. I thank you all for your continued support! I look forward to my new chapter at Bloom and hope to meet some new people along the way to make happy as well!

I have been a hairstylist since 2005, following my graduation from Hair and Motion Beauty Academy in Worcester, MA . I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing, but I specialize in foiling, blondes, and formal styling. I'm certified in keratin treatments ( Cezanne ) and eyelash lift/ tints. I'm excited to work alongside my beautiful friends that I have worked with for ten years. My main priority is to make my clients look and feel beautiful.

Hello! My name is Michelle Marcoux. I am a graduate of Paul Mitchell - The School Cranston RI 2007. I started at The Shop in Putnam CT for three years, following that I worked at Monroe’s Salon and Spa for nine years. I am proud to say that of all 12 years of making this quiet corner feel beautiful have been alongside my best friend and the owner of Bloom Hair Salon, Kara Peach! Bloom is a much anticipated and thrilling new chapter, alongside most of the girls from Monroe’s! I specialize in cutting curly hair, Cezanne keratin treatments, makeup for brides and special events, and certified eyelash lifting and tinting! I offer men, women, as well as children’s haircuts. Coloring, foiling, and eyebrow waxing is also on my menu of offerings. The creativity and fun I have behind the chair is what I love most about this job. I truly cherish the bonds and relationships I have formed with my clients throughout the years. I am honored to be a part of Bloom! Here’s to many successful and gorgeous years!

My name is Kristen Gisleson, I have been behind the chair in many capacities over my 17 years in the industry, including 12 years in salon ownership. I am a 2001 graduate of Arthur Angelo school of cosmetology and began planting my roots in Putnam shortly following. I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing, but my passion is in hair coloring and highlighting. Continuous education helps to keep my creativity flowing. When I’m not behind the chair, I’m playing with my two boys and gardening with my husband. I love the joy I get from bonding with my family, overplay, and hard work. I feel blessed to be able to do what I love alongside a group of amazing girls and clients. It brings me great joy to make someone feel beautiful and satisfy all their beauty needs.

My name is Shayna Cook and I have been doing hair for about 16 years now. I am a licensed master barber and specialize in men’s cuts and short women’s cuts. I also have been doing wedding styles and updos for the majority of my career. I am licensed in both RI and CT. I fully enjoy being behind the chair whether it’s doing cuts, colors or updos. I recently started working with extensions and am happy to offer that service along with others.It never feels like work when you love what you do and I fully enjoy my career and everyone I’m able to share an experience with. My job is to make my clients happy and as long as that happens then my job is done..

Hi! My name is Samantha Faber. My exposure to the beauty industry started at a young age and immediately became a passion for me. I have been behind the chair since 2010. Over the years I have developed specialties in color techniques like balayage, foiling and cutting. I also specialize in airbrush makeup for bridal and special events. In my career I have experience from working with photographers on photoshoots to working on an independent movie set.
Creating relationships with people is really what I love most about my work and I take pride in everything I do. Nothing makes me happier than making my clients feel confident about themselves.
